Energy From Briquettes Of durian

In addition to the stone material used battery, durian skin can also be used as a substitute for coconut shell charcoal briquettes, coal and wood charcoal for use in the process of roasting food

Based on research, a charcoal briquette charcoal changed shape, size, and density, so that it becomes more practical products used as fuel. While the durian peel briquette is a residue, which most of its components are carbon. It occurs due to the decomposition of durian skin, caused by the heat treatment. These events can occur in direct or indirect heating in a heap, with or without free air.

The process of making a briquettes of durian

Results chopped sun-dried, then oven in a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. Once inserted into the furnace to dry granular charcoal (incomplete combustion). In the process of making charcoal granular charcoal will produce large (coarse) and fine (powder). Large charcoal can be used as raw material for activated carbon, while the subtle charcoal briquettes are used as raw materials.

However, large granular charcoal can be used as fuel briquettes manufacture leather, but must go through the process of refining. After smoothed (usually with a crusher machine), charcoal produced crushed and added to a solution of 10% starch, ground hat 10%, and 1% NaOH solution. Subsequently molded into briquettes.

The next step is drying the briquettes at a certain temperature (using the oven), so the resulting briquettes durian skin with a certain moisture content. Briquettes produced oven longer to dry. Signs are dry, if placed in the hands felt light. In addition, there was no powder that sticks in hand.

Some of the benefits of durian peel briquette is relatively high calorific value, odorless, non-pollutant, does not produce gas SO (sulfur oxyde), and can be directly illuminated (no need kerosene for  as in coal briquettes). Its use is relatively long, about 2 hours 20 minutes. Shape and size is also tailored to the needs.
